Cutanplast® is a sterile re-absorbable gelatin sponge with a powerful haemostatic effect: the porous surface of the gelatin induces the rapid rupture of the blood platelets with the consequent activation of the enzymatic cascade, which leads to natural coagulation.
Completely absorbed when left in situ.
Non-toxic.
Does not cause allergic reactions.
Has a neutral pH.
Absorbs blood corresponding to approximately 50 times its own weight.
May be applied dry.
May be soaked with sterile physiological solution or with antibiotics.
Is reabsorbed within a number of weeks.
